The Airbus SAS A380 is the world’s largest passenger jet and will help to expand Dubai as a global travel hub, two individuals with knowledge of the agreement said. The carrier will order more than 30 more A380’s and the company is likely to announce the accord at the ILA Air Show in Berlin Tuesday, said one of the individuals, who preferred to remain nameless because the two sides are still working on the deal’s terms. This kind of order would be a step forward for Airbus on the A380 after only gaining one new customer for the 535-seat jet since commercial operations began in 2007. The A380, which is partially used by Emirates to shuttle migrant workers between the Middle East and countries including Bangladesh and India, will take years to transform into a lucrative program after Airbus struggled with delays in construction and slow assembly.
