KLM will launch 200 biofuel powered flights in September

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch 200 flights this September that will be powered completely by fuel made from recycled cooking oil.

The announcement comes a year a half after the airline first began experimenting with biofuel –powered flights.

The new cooking oil-based biofuel will require no mechanical changes to KLM's existing jet engines, according to officials. The green flights will operate on the carrier's Paris-Amsterdam route.
