Dubai International Airport traffic up in 2010

We just listed Dubai International Airport as one of our Top 10 Airports Around the World. Apparently we’re not alone, as Dubai International reported a 25 percent over the last 12 months between September 2009 and 2010.

In the first nine months of 2010, Dubai’s airport traffic was up 15.8 percent with 34,838,359 travelers passing through their doors. In September, traffic hit 3.9 million passengers with help from over 130
airlines and 210 destinations, which now makes Dubai International the sixth
busiest airport on the planet.

Commenting on the massive growth in popularity of the airport, CEO of Dubai Airports Paul Griffiths said: “We are seeing expansion across the board, not only from our usual top
flight destinations such as India, the UK, Iran and Germany but we are
also seeing significant increases in passenger traffic to and from the
US, China and Australia.”
