Dubai Airport traffic spikes in April

In April 2010 Dubai International Airport suffered greatly from the ash cloud in Iceland that forced hundreds of flights to be grounded worldwide. One year later and Dubai's airport has seen a 13.2 percent jump in passenger traffic last month.

A total of 4.23 million people passed through the airport in April and year-to-date arrivals were up 8.5 percent to 16.5 million. The CEO of Dubai Airport, Paul Griffiths, commented on the news:

"We have surpassed the four
million passenger mark three out of the first four months of the year
and that trend is set to continue." Griffiths added, "Our busiest summer ever is just around the corner and we will
be working hard to maintain high service levels and ensure the comfort
of our customers."
