A few hours into the busiest travel day of the year, airports reported that things were still moving quite smoothly.

The day before Thanksgiving was predicted to be beyond hellish with not only the usual travel madness but also angry travelers who planned to refused body scanners.

However, National Opt Out Day, which was supposed to create a huge mess of delays as passengers demanded pat-downs, proved to be far less dramatic and effective, according to reports by LaGuardia and Reagan.

LaGuardia reported lines going as quick as ten minutes at Delta’s security checkpoint and it seemed that the full body scanners were speeding up the process if anything. Not many people wanted to endure the enhanced pat-down.
