Savannah wants JetBlue

Savannah, Georgia is pushing for JetBlue to start offering flights to and from Hilton Head International Airport.  Tourism officials for Savannah have been pulling out all the stops in order to woo the low-cost carrier and convince them that they should have Georgia on their mind.

According to a report today by the Savannah Morning News, airport executive director Patrick Graham, director of air service development Bob Uhrich, Hilton Head Island/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Bill Miles and Joe Marinelli of the Savannah Convention and Visitors Bureau went to the New York City home offices of JetBlue to convince the airline why the "Garden City" would be a great addition to their company.

The presentation reportedly included a slide show and presentation boasting the various Savannah attractions and events with locals holding signs that read" Savannah loves JetBlue."

Days before the meeting, the city sent over some blue rocking chairs with JetBlue's name plastered on them and mock boarding passes to Savannah. The city is hoping to hear back from JetBlue by the end of the year.
