Christmas Shopping Around the Globe for Beauty Products CheapOair Staff December 3, 2010 general Want to combine a trip abroad with a Christmas shopping spree? Then you need to choose where to go. Over the next few weeks we’ll be listing some of the best places to buy various products, and this week we’re kicking off with presents to kickstart your beauty regime. Whether they’re purely available abroad or simply much better priced in their home country, these are products worth flying for. Malaysia (Elianto): Based in Kuala Lumpur but sold over the Middle East and rapidly expanding in the Far East, Elianto is an absolute gem. It’s cheap, but fantastic quality, from make up to skincare – and the organic range is superb. Definitely worth going over the baggage limit for. New Zealand (Trilogy): Founded in 2002 by two sisters, this natural skincare range is packed to the gills with products you might rather eat than put on your skin: rosehips, fatty acids, aloe vera and essential oils. Most of the ingredients are organic, including their signature rosehip oil, which you’ll find in most of the products. United Kingdom (Lush): Yes, you can get Lush products in many countries other than the original these days, but for the lowest prices (and original names for the products) you need to go to the UK, where there are stores in most major cities. If you haven’t heard of Lush, you may well have smelled it – they sell super-fresh, preservative-free and eco-friendly (like solid shampoos to cut down on packaging) products, including a fantastic range of face masks made fresh every day. In London, they’ve even started opening up spas, too. Greece (Korres): Again, you can get Korres outside of Greece now, but for the best prices you need to go to Greece, and for the most fun, you must pop by their flagship store in Athens that’s actually an old pharmacist. Korres makes beautiful, high end bathroom products with natural ingredients and their mini kits make the perfect Christmas stocking filler. The store in Athens also stocks homeopathic medicine on the side. France (Caudalie): You may not be able to afford a retreat at one of the posh Caudalie spas in France, Spain and Italy, but you can get a taste of the life with the range of spa products sold in France and Europe. The range uses Vinotherapy, or wine products, from a Merlot body scrub to vine flower shower gel and shampoo. All the smell, none of the calories.
