Chicago’s Record Row Soon Home to Cheap Trick Museum and Concert Venue CheapOair Staff November 10, 2011 general Cheap Trick wants Chicago to want them Music fans arriving on flights to Chicago will soon have a truly unique venue to explore in “Cheap Trick Chicago.” On Wednesday, the ’70s superstar band behind hits like “I Want You to Want Me” announced a new museum, music venue, and radio station headquartered in the Windy City’s emerging Record Row district. In a written statement, the band’s manager said visitors could expect a “one-of-a-kind eatery, unique musical instrument museum, radio station, and performance space” at Cheap Trick Chicago. The project is part of a larger development plan in Chicago to revitalize the historic Record Row district which at one time played host to nearly 40 recording studios.
