According to the MSNBC report, it will be the world’s first airport aeroponic garden. Vegetables grown from the garden, which will be in Terminal 3, will also be used for a few of the restaurants in the facility. Lettuce, peppers, green beans and herbs will be supplied to the Chicago airport restaurants; Tuscany, Blackhawks Restaurant and Wicker Park Seafood and Sushi. What’s aeroponic? It’s a method that uses air or mist to help the plants grow in place of dirt.
