Hundreds of restaurants spreading throughout California will be feeding travelers and locals to tasty affordable dishes during the month of January, and some into the first week of February.

The areas in question include the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California, the Central Coast, and Southern California. The major cities involved are San Francisco, Sacramento, Santa Barbara, and San Diego.

In San Francisco, you can dig in to cheap meals from Jan. 15th to the 31st. Participating restaurants will offer a two-course lunch for $17.95 and a three-course dinner for $34.95.

Sacramento will be participating in California Restaurant Month from Jan. 7th through the 16th. Their offer is a three-course prix-fixe dinner for $30.

Santa Barbara is the place to be, they’re restaurant week ( Jan. 27th – Feb. 6th ) actually coincides with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (same dates). Santa Barbara, unlike most participating cities, offers up to three options in a two-course, three-course, and four-course dinner. Prices vary according to participating restaurants.

San Diego has over 180 participating restaurants in its restaurant week from Jan. 16 through the 21st.  You can fill yourself up with a three-course different with prices ranging from $20 to $40 depending on the restaurant.
