Anthony was sentenced to two months in prison

After giving an airport worker the middle finger in Dubai, Paul Anthony was arrested and sentenced to two months in jail. British Anthony got into an argument with a female airport employee when she wouldn’t allow him to use a customer service desk phone.

A Dubai court heard he cursed the Muslim woman in front of colleagues and then flicked his middle finger in her face as he passed through border controls. The woman called the police who arrested 34 year old Anthony.

He was convicted of indecency and insulting the employee – named in court as Maryam – at a previous hearing. Anthony pleaded not guilty and began his appeal yesterday. Court sources claim that Anthony worked for the UN and was planning a six-day stopover in Dubai en route from an Asian country.

After three days of being locked up he was bailed out.
