British Airways launches mobile app

British Airways is taking a major leap forward in the expanding travel tech market with the debut of an app that lets passengers check-in via their smart phone.

Members of the BA Executive Club will be able to use their Android, Blackberry or iPhone to display a digital boarding pass on their phone. Airport would then scan the bar code, making the check-in process a tad bit simpler and faster.

The app will also offer flight information, check-in times and inform passengers in the event of a delay. British Airways is following in the aviation footsteps of such airlines as Etihad Airways, which launched a similar app earlier this year.
