According to British Airways' Willie Walsh, the airline is open to reviving talks with Qantas Airways, Australia's top carrier, about the possibilities of a merger. 

The two airlines last met in 2008, but those negotiations fell apart and were never revisited.  But now with BA and Iberia reportedly eying 12 possible companies to join forces with once their merger is complete, Qantas might be a perfect fit for Walsh and company as they are planning an Asia invasion.

However airline insiders are saying that while Qantas is more than likely one of the 12 airlines being sought after when BA and Iberia merge, the Aussie companies current restructuring plans could postpone any possible talks.
