Boeing has announced a plan to once again increase the production rate of its popular 777 aircraft.

The company said this week that it plans to increase production to 8.3 planes per month starting in 2013.

Boeing had previously announced an increase that would up production from five to seven planes per month in 2011.

According to the Chicago-based company, the increases are necessary to keep up with growing customer demand.

The announcement comes despite the news that an unnamed customer cut orders on three 777s earlier this month.
