Travelers have another reason to fear bedbugs, according to a report by MSNBC; a study finds bedbugs also have antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Five bedbugs from three patients at Vancouver hospital were studied. Two patients had the antibiotic-resistant bacteria, Enterococcus faeium, referred to as VRE. The other patient had MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), another resistant to antibiotics. The MRSA strain has been discovered on hospitals, cell phones, money as well as beaches.
