As the oil from the Gulf of Mexico continues to push away tourists in a plethora of Southeastern states, hotels from Texas to Florida and airlines like Spirit are enthusiastically throwing out deals to increase business.

Prices for hotel rooms have been decreased by as much as 30 percent across the Gulf Coast and various spots in the Caribbean, as individuals fret about where the oil will show up next. Hotels in certain cities as far away as Miami and along the eastern coast of Texas are seeing bookings affected by the oil disaster.

Prices on airline tickets to the Gulf have also decreased slightly since the spill. Overall, flight deals are more difficult to find because airlines can move planes to other routes if passenger numbers decrease.
