Amtrak Resuming Limited NY-to-Boston Service CheapOair Staff April 2, 2010 general Due to flooding conditions, Amtrak was forced to stop service from Rhode Island and Connecticut to New York this week. However, Amtrak began limited service from Boston to New York starting Friday. The railroad service will transport passengers through Hartford, Connecticut and Springfield, Massachusetts instead of Providence, Rhode Island. For those looking for public transportation to New York, the Acela Express will only be available between New Haven, Connecticut and New York, instead of its normal route between Boston and New York. Amtrak will be assessing the conditions throughout Friday. Source: Associated Press
