American Airlines announced on Wednesday that it will recall 545 flight attendants and 250 pilots to handle network expansion on international routes.

The airline said its partnership with British Airways and Spain’s Iberia, which begins Wednesday, has created new opportunities.

“This is exactly the kind of growth we’re hoping to achieve with our network strategy, and my hope is that trends like this will continue,” Chief Executive of AMR, Gerard Arpey said in a statement.

American Airlines said the first group of 25 pilots will be recalled in mid-November and the recalling will continue at a rate of about 30 per month.

Recalls for flight attendants will be issued to about 225 attendants in October, with more notices in the future.
