Alaska Airlines plans to launch a service between the Bay Area in California to the Hawaiian island of Kauai early next year.

The airline's service between San Jose, California and Lihue Airport in Kauai starts on March 27. Its service between Oakland and Lihue begins March 28. Both flights depart four times per week.

The new flights will highlight the airline's current Hawaii service from San Jose and Oakland to Kahului, Maui, and Kona, in Hawaii.
