An AirTran spokesman was quoted in the CBS report saying it was an “underperforming market.” The last flight will be made on January 6th to Atlanta. With AirTran no longer servicing Atlantic City, Spirit Airlines is the only commercial airline in the city. It comes as a surprise as some thought AirTran would build their network since they merged with Southwest.
