Air Jamaica is
looking to get back to work by July and aims to be flying three times a week to
London Heathrow airport.

It will be a direct flight from Heathrow to Montego Bay,
which hasn’t been done by the airline since 2007.

The decision, which was delivered by Jamaica’s Minister of
Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, erases any doubt that Air Jamaica would become an
afterthought since merging with Caribbean Airlines. The airline bought Air
Jamaica in 2010.

The plan for Air Jamaica, alongside their Heathrow route, is
to make trips to New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami in
Florida as well as the Bahamas.
