A Hotel with 6-Star Accommodations CheapOair Staff November 28, 2009 general The impressive and expensive Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai Piercing through the hot desert skies of Dubai is the Burj Al Arab Hotel. This 1,050 ominous structure is the second tallest building in the world to be used as a hotel. The property was designed to mimic the sail of a boat and was constructed on an artificial island and is connected to the mainland by a curving bridge. Construction began in 1994 and the Burj Al Arab opened its doors in 2000. The exclusive 6-star hotel cost $650 million to build and rates start at a pretty hefty $1,000 per night for a suite. At those prices I think I will have to stick with my booking at the Holiday Inn Dubai. Do you have a fun, interesting, fabulous, or unique travel photo you would like to share?
