Fall in Philadelphia is a special time. The leaves start to change, the air grows crisp, and neighborhoods come together to party one last time (if you can draw their attention away from Phillies baseball, that is.) If you’re lucky enough to find cheap flights to Philadelphia this fall, you’ll find a plethora of fall festivals awaiting your arrival.

Our friends over at Visit Philly recently put together an extensive round-up of Philly Fall Festivals. Here are a few of our favorites:

EATS (Eat Along the Street): September 21 – Propper Brothers. We’ve already named Philadelphia one of the top five cities for street food. Come out and see why during this celebration of food trucks, authentic street food, and local restaurants.

Philly F/M Festival: September 22-25 – City-wide. Some of the best indie, electronic, metal and hip hop acts participate in a city-wide festival spanning more than 15 venues and outdoor settings. To earn some extra street cred, sit in on one of 10 music-related documentary screenings happening during the festival.

POPPED! Music Festival: September 23-24 – FDR Park. More than 30 acts, ranging from top performers to local talent, take the stage in South Philly. Performers this year include The Shins, Cage the Elephant, Girl Talk, DJ ?uestlove, Foster the People, and many more.

Campus Philly College Day: September 24 – Citywide. Free admission for all students to 15 of Philly’s best museums and attractions. Free tours will be offered of three featured College Day neighborhoods: Parkway Museums District, Rittenhouse, Square and Historic Philadelphia. The day ends with a free screening of the new movie 50/50 starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogan at The Pearl Theatre.

Vendemmia Wine Festival: September 25. California isn’t alone in celebrating Wine Month. The Vendemmia Wine Festival offers an afternoon of wine tasting, free grub, and live music, all in the name of charity. All proceeds benefit a scholarship fund for students of Italian Heritage in South Philly.

Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival: October 1 – Kelly Drive. An annual celebration of an ancient Chinese tradition. Colorful boats, decorated meticulously with colored dragon heads and tails, manned by teams of 20 paddlers, compete against each other in races throughout the day.

Philadelphia Improv Festival: October 3-9 – Several venues. Bust a gut with over 40 groups and 200 individual comedians performing improv comedy throughout the week. The laughs continue throughout the month of October which has been officially dedicated to comedy in the City of Brotherly Love.
