Etihad Airways Voted Top First Class Airline CheapOair Staff June 18, 2010 general Etihad Airways was voted the world's best First Class airline At the recent Skytrax World Airline Awards, Etihad Airways swept the First Class categories by picking up the awards for World's Best First Class Airline as well as Best First Class Airline Seat and Best First Class Onboard Catering. The Skytrax World Airline Awards were voted on by 18 million global travelers, representing 100 countries. On receiving the First Class awards, Etihad Airways' Chief Commercial Officer Peter Baumgartner said, "We are exceptionally proud to have won these three awards for our new and innovative First Class product and service which is now recognized as the world's best by the ultimate judges – air travelers." The new First Class cabin includes 12 suites, designed to give passengers more privacy, comfort and storage space. Each suite comes with a sliding door, in-seat massagers, personal wardrobe, 23 inch wide-screen LCD screen and a mini bar. Etihad Airways is currently ranked sixth out of all global airline for 2010, up one spot from one year earlier.
