After Booking Frontier Airlines Deals, How Do I Check into My Flight?woman checking in to flight on a laptop

There are a few different ways to check in when you fly Frontier. You can use the carrier’s mobile app, check-in via their website (where you can also print your boarding pass), visit a self-service airport kiosk, or visit a Frontier ticket counter.

If you check in online or through their app, you can do so up to 24 hours prior to your flight. You can also check any baggage or choose a seating assignment (and pay for said baggage and seat) when you check in online. Checking in at the airport? Be sure to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare — at least two hours before departure.

You will need to check-in at the airport if you are:

  • Dropping off or picking up an unaccompanied minor.
  • Requesting a wheelchair or other special services.
  • Needing to make changes to your itinerary or if you have any outstanding balances.
  • Traveling with animals.

What’s the Deal with Baggage?

Like many other airlines that offer cheap flights, Frontier Airlines deals pass on savings to customers. That means they aren’t going to hide extra baggage fees in the cost of your actual ticket; if you wish to bring luggage with you, you’ll have to add it on for an extra fee.

Frontier allows passengers to bring one personal item onboard for free. This might include a purse, a laptop case, a briefcase, a tote bag, or a diaper bag. The dimensions of this personal item must be less than or equal to 14 x 18 x 8 inches.

Are There Baggage Fees?

After you’ve found your Frontier Airlines deals, and you wish to bring a carry-on, you’ll have to pay an extra fee. Typically, you’ll pay $30 for a carry-on bag if you purchase online up to 24 hours before your flight. But you’ll pay $40 or more for the same bag if you wait until you arrive at the airport. Carry-on bags cannot be bigger than 24 x 16 x 10 inches deep, including wheels and handles.

Checked luggage is also subject to a fee. Again, these fees will be lower if you pay in advance, starting at $20. If you need to check two bags, the fees for the second bag increase slightly. Your checked luggage cannot exceed 50 pounds in weight and must be 62 linear inches or smaller.

If your carry-on and/or checked baggage has been purchased in advance, you can drop off your bags and head straight to security (assuming you’ve already checked in and have your boarding pass, that is).
