Macy’s 34th Street, New York

New York City is completely filled with Christmas spirit. From Rockefeller Center to the famous Saks window displays on 5th Avenue, the Big Apple is the place during wintertime!  One of the best places in town to get in full Christmas mood is Santaland, located inside the world-famous Macy’s at Herald Square. Admission is free of charge… however, meetups with Santa are by reservation only! The classic film Miracle on 34th Street took place at this flagship store, and taking a trip here will definitely have you believing in Santa all over again… if you don’t already believe, that is!

Buckingham Palace, England

Jetting off to London to pay a visit to the residence of the Royals is always a nice idea! Although you will only get as far as the palace’s outside gates, witnessing the changing of the guards is a memorable experience that will make you feel like a kid again. Besides, it’s common to see Buckingham Palace covered in a blanket of snow during the holidays, resembling the inside of a quintessential Christmas snow globe like the ones you loved to collect when growing up! 

North Pole, Alaska

We bet that going to the North Pole was on your bucket list when you were just kid living Christmas at its fullest. Well, this may come as news to you, but the North Pole does really exist! This town in Alaska is decked out with Christmas 365 days a year. Some of the streets are named Kris Kringle Drive, Mistletoe Lane, and Santa Claus Lane. You can even find Santa Claus’ house here! If you’re visiting near Christmas Day, you’ll definitely see news broadcasters filming and reporting on the search for Santa. So don’t think twice about writing a letter to your loved ones from the North Pole’s “real” address. It will blow their minds! 

Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany

Located in Germany, overlooking the village of Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein is one of the world’s most iconic castles. It was also the main inspiration to Walt Disney’s magical iconography, and therefore a mandatory place to please our inner child. Visiting during the winter season is nothing short of magical as the snow lays perfectly on the castle and the surrounding trees and mountains.

Parc Güell, Spain

This enchanting park located in Barcelona was designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí and is currently a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s made up of wondrous statues and buildings filled with bright colors, mythological references, historical nuances, and quirky symbolism. Taking a trip to Parc Güell ought to bring back memories of your childhood’s craziest fantasy stories!
