Enter, Raden: the world’s newest smart suitcase. Available in both carry-on and checked baggage sizes, these smart Raden suitcases can do it all. With the use of their corresponding app, they weigh themselves — saving you those pesky overweight fees — they have USB charging ports built in, and they’re Bluetooth enabled, so you can track them down if they go missing.

How have we not thought of this sooner?!

Surprisingly (to us, at least), Raden is not the first company to venture into the smart suitcase biz, nor are they necessarily the best. With two other competitors, Raden appears to be the middle-of-the-road option, both in terms of price and features. But! The mid-range product is usually the best value option, amirite?

Before you run out to their new SoHo location in Manhattan to buy one of these babies, keep a few things in mind. If you’re a notorious over packer, this may not be the best option for you. The suitcases’ hard body construction adds a bit of weight and bulk — not to mention less wiggle room in terms of how much you can pack in there — so they don’t appear to be the lightest or most maneuverable cases on the market. They’re also lacking in organizational compartments, for those backpackers who love their external pocket options. (Can we get some USB ports in our backpacks, please?)

But! Still. These suitcases solve a TON of common luggage problems. We’re pretty excited about them.
