The Telegraph Travel Awards for 2014 were announced Monday.

Nearly 90,000 people voted in the world’s biggest reader travel survey on various aspects of travel lifestyle, from the best city to visit, the best short-haul airline to fly, the best hotel chain and much more.

British Airways took home the award for best short-haul airline with Swiss and Icelandair finishing as runners up.

Singapore Airlines won the award for best long-haul airline. Emirates and Virgin Atlantic were the runners up.

The award for best hotel chain went to the Four Seasons with RIU and the Jumeirah Group coming in as the runners up.

Cape Town took home the crown for best city! Coming in as the runners up were Vancouver and Venice.

Somehow Maldives didn’t win for best country. That award went to New Zealand.
