TSA: Your iPad is Airport Friendly CheapOair Staff April 7, 2010 general Your iPad is airport friendly The Transportation Security Administration is allowing iPad users a pass when going through airport security…for now. The TSA said that the new Apple device can stay in passenger's carry-on luggage when going through checkpoints unlike laptops which must be removed and placed in a separate bin. The iPad is much thinner and smaller than laptops, making it much easier for agents to scan when going through X-Ray machines. But the TSA added that it reserves the right to ask any passenger to remove their iPad if they suspect something. So for now you will still have to remove your laptop, take off your shoes and in some cases walk through a full-body scanner, but at least your iPad can fly freely. Source: Mashable
