Could the long drawn out feud between British Airways and Unite finally be coming to an end? That is what BA’s Chief Executive Officer Willie Walsh is hoping for after the airline proposed a new deal today to the union that represents roughly 12,000 of its cabin crew members.

Late last week both sides stated that new talks have made “serious progress” and that they are both hoping to avoid further strikes.

This news comes just days after British Airways revealed that they lost more during the strike than originally estimated. BA stated that they lost about 40-45 million GBP, which is up from the previous report of 38.5 million GBP.

Revenue also fell by 11.4% in March, which is mostly due to the two consecutive weekends of walkouts by the cabin crew.
