BP Oil spill continues to wreak havoc on Gulf Coast

More trouble down in the Gulf Coast region as BP was forced to remove a cap that was capturing oil gushing from the Deepwater Horizon rig. According to various reports, the underwater robot collided with a venting system, which caused gas to rise through the vent. 

According to Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, BP was forced to remove the cap to ensure that no ice-like crystals were forming on the cap.  As of right now BP is still burning oil on the surface, and ifno crystals are found on the cap, they will place it back on by the end of the day.

The cap had been capturing roughly 700,000 gallons of oil per day according to BP officials. The BP oil spill has affected travel to states like Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana since the rig exploded on April 20.
