On Monday, American Airlines said its partnership with JetBlue will start Monday, permitting the two airlines to connect customers to 18 domestic markets where they previously did not participate.

JetBlue travelers will also be permitted to connect to American Airlines’ flights out of Boston and New York to international destinations, including Barcelona, Spain, and Tokyo, Japan.

In addition, the companies have decided to offer a frequent flyer deal which will enable JetBlue fliers to earn miles through American’s AAdvantage program, and American travelers can earn points from particular JetBlue flights.

The partnership between the airlines will run chiefly out of New York’s John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports and out of Boston Logan International Airport.
