An air traffic control strike in Paris disrupted travel from airports across France on Wednesday with one in five flights canceled from Paris’s main international airport Charles de Gaulle.

Lines formed as half of all flights were also cancelled from Paris’s second largest airport, Orly, which serves domestic and some international destinations.

Flight cancellations began on Tuesday evening at Orly, where some passengers were stranded overnight after their lights were cancelled.

The disruption was expected at most French airports because of the strike, but comes at an inconvenient time considering most are leaving for their summer vacations.
