According to the controllers’ union, its 2,300 members are voting Tuesday but a date for a strike would be decided later on. The stoppage could come in August, the busiest month for travel in Spain, one of Europe’s top summer vacation destinations. USCA says the strike has been planned to protest the latest government ruling outlining changes in working and rest hours. The union states the changes force several controllers to work up to 28 days a month.
