Kent, Connecticut Ranks as Best Fall Foliage Town CheapOair Staff August 24, 2010 general In its 75th anniversary issue, Yankee magazine named the city of Kent, Connecticut as the best place in New England to see fall foliage. Hitting newsstands Tuesday, the magazine placed the town of roughly 3,000 residents above such popular and well known destinations as Stowe, Vermont and Amherst, Massachusetts. A destination was judged in 14 categories to be considered a "must visit" fall foliage destination. They included fall color, scenery, visas, water, drives, hikes, culture, farmers markets and farm stands, orchards, parks, covered bridges, whether or not they were too crowded, shopping and combined category of lodging and food options. Each category ranked a location from zero to five points, with Kent scoring higher than all with a score of 58 out of 70.
