Steven
Slater to undergo mental evaluation

JetBlue's Slater will undergo a mental evaluation

Former JetBlue employee, Steve Slater, is set to undergo a mental health evaluation. Slater, who got his 15 minutes of fame by swearing at a passenger who he felt had treated him badly, popped the emergency chute, grabbed a beer and departed Kennedy International Airport. He was charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and trespassing.

The mental health evaluation is a part of assessment on Slater that will help the proper authorities potentially lead to alternative sentencing, including such things as community service or counseling instead of being put behind bars. During a court appearance in New York, Slater agreed to comply with the evaluation.
