First it was monkeys in Mexico City…then it was a tiger cub in Bangkok…oh and who could forget the 95 snakes in Malaysia. Now comes a report out of Washington Dulles International Airport that Customs agents discovered a package containing Giant African Land Snails.

Officials of U.S. Customs and Border Protection said 14 of the slimy creatures were seized before making it to their final destination due to the snails being banned from the United States because they can harm crops severely.

The package was being transported by a passenger arriving from the West African nation of Ghana.  The snails are about the size of a golf ball and can grow to roughly eight inches in length.
