A Nigerian man charged with attempting to blow up an international flight headed to Detroit, Michigan on Christmas day will be back in a federal courtroom today for the first time since January 8.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab will be present for a pretrial hearing over the case, where a possible trial date could be set by U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds.

Nearly 300 people were on-board a Northwest Airlines flight last December, when Abdulmutallab allegedly tried to ignite a bomb stored in his underwear.

Defense lawyers are currently meeting with prosecutors in regards to a possible plea deal.
