One of the nation's busiest airports will be losing a runway for the next two weeks.

That's because crew members at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport will be installing new concrete on a runway that intersects with the airport's main strip, Bay Runway.  

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said delays should not increase due to the runway closing. Once the runway shuts down for repairs this Thursday, the other three runways at JFK will handle the extra traffic.

The upgrade is part of a major $376 million construction job involving JFK Airport's runways. Bay Runway was closed down earlier this year for four months and reopened in June after receiving a makeover.
