Tourism officials of Las Vegas have approved a deal to host a big airline industry conference in the United States for the first time in 2013.

Tuesday, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority unanimously approved spending $2.2 million to bring the World Route Development Forum into town.

The conference, which is owned by England-based UBM Aviation, is noted as the world’s largest air transportation show, with around 3,000 transit officials.
