2012 SUmmer Olympic Games in London, England

Calling all Britons, the 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games need your help. An organizing committee is hoping to recruit 70,000 volunteers and applications are currently available to the general public.

While you will receive no pay, you do get to experience history up close and even get the cool nickname of "Games Maker."

If you're interested in helping out, then you must be at least 18 years of age by the first day of 2012 and will need to be available to work at least ten days and train for three days.

Specialist volunteers are also valuable for the London games, with 8,000 already recruited and an additional 8,000 needed.

So what does a volunteer do during the Olympics? Jobs generally include ticketing duties, visitor guides, administering first aid, keeping the grounds clean and interpreting for foreigners that do not speak English.

Applications close on October 27, 2010 and interviews will be held over the next year.
