Lufthansa Orders 40 More Airbus Jets Worth $4.3 Billion CheapOair Staff September 23, 2010 general Lufthansa makes a multi-billion dollar order to Airbus Lufthansa announced Wednesday that they approved an order of 40 Airbus jets worth an estimated $4.3 billion. The massive order consist of the following: Twenty A320-family jets Three A330-300s for Lufthansa Four A320-family aircraft Five A330-300s for Swiss Eight A319s for Germanwings “Our decision to acquire additional Airbus aircraft is testament not only to their advantageous operating costs, reliability and performance, but also to our long-standing partnership with Airbus,” said Nico Buchholz, Lufthansa executive vice president, group fleet management. “These Airbus aircraft will provide eco-efficiency, seamless comfort, passenger appeal and operational synergies across the Lufthansa Group.” The Lufthansa Group, Airbus’s biggest airline customer, will have obtained a combined total of 410 Airbus aircraft with this order.
