London's Heathrow reports record traffic in September

London's Heathrow Airport reported its busiest September traffic ever Monday. Airports operator BAA reported 6.22 million travelers made their from Europe's busiest airport last month.

When compared with the same time a year prior, traffic was up by 7.6 percent.  BAA attributes the jump in traffic due to business travel picking up as the global economic recovery continues. The Associated Press also reports some airlines are even "restarting routes and
flights that were axed at the height of the recession."

The most popular routes out of Heathrow were to Dubai, Dublin and New York.  Traffic at all of the six major British airports – Heathrow, Stansted,
Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen – was up by 3.3 percent in September when compared to the same time a year prior.
