The Liberace Museum has of Las Vegas has closed for good with no special goodbye from any museum official. Hundreds of visitors admired the museums jewel soaked costumes and feathered capes during the Liberace’s final hours Sunday.

The move came as its finances dwindled to the point that the attraction was in danger of draining the Liberace scholarship account.

Stephen McClelland, one of the fans lined up to see the museum in its final hours, said Liberace “represented a fading era of over-the-top showmanship, showgirls and great costumes."
