The United Kingdom announced this week that they will be introducing passenger vetting on all flights coming into and out of the country in the wake of last Friday's attempted terrorist cargo bomb plot.

Under the new rules there will be universal pre-departure checks which will include no-fly list for terrorist suspects and a more detailed list of travelers that will require extra vetting before they are able to board their plane. In special cases, a passenger may even be investigated as soon as they book their airline ticket.

The UK however says there are limits to their profiling, with race and religion banned from being a factor as to why someone can or cannot fly. Suspicious activity that may cause an immediate search include a customer that books a last-minute flight from a known hostile country or pays their ticket with cash.
