More strikes loom for BA in 2011

The never ending saga between British Airways and Unite union, which represents their cabin crew members, looks like it will not be settled anytime soon with new strike threats.

Travelers are now facing the possibility of having their travel plans disrupted in early 2011 as Unite gave BA formal notice of their intention to ballot members for industrial action. 

The vote would take place between December 21, 2010 and January 21, 2011, with new strikes possible in February and over Easter holiday. The union striked 22 days in 2010 and cost the airline over $150 million USD (or over £100 million pounds).

The argument between both sides started with BA slashing jobs and then escalated when the airline removed travel perks from workers that went on strike last March.
