In 2010 Germany will set a new record and generate over 60 million overnight stays from foreign visitors for the first time, officials confirmed.

This result means around 3.5 million more overnight stays than in 2008, the best year on record so far and around five million more than in 2009, when the country was experiencing the global economic crisis.

The result has been predicted by the German National Tourist Board based on the latest numbers collected by the Federal Statistical Office and other market research institutions.
