In a recent interview with Qatar’s Gulf Times, Akbar al-Baker stated that he was “pretty confident” about launching an IPO over the next two years. He explained that the airline had always planned to offer shares to the public after three consecutive years of profit. The airline followed up a profitable 2009 with another net profit this year. “I can tell you we have made good net profit in the last financial year, though we will disclose the exact figure only when we get listed,” al-Baker said.
