Full Body Scanner Arrives at Palm Springs Airport CheapOair Staff December 22, 2010 general Palms Springs International Airport is the latest airport to receive the controversial full-body scanner. The Transportation Security Administration is attempting to install roughly 500 of the much talked about devices at airports nationwide by the end of the year. Passengers at PSP started going through the scanner Monday morning. As always travelers that opt out of the scanners can receive an “enhanced” pat-down instead. Federal stimulus money was used by the TSA to pay for the scanners.
