Flights Resume at Dublin Airport CheapOair Staff December 23, 2010 general After flights were suspended due to heavy snowfalls, flights have begun taking off again at Dublin Airport. Roughly 100 flights were grounded and cancelled after the airport was shut down for three and a half hours. Nearly 15,000 passengers were affected by the closure. Ryanair blasted the airport for shutting down for such a long amount of time, but Dublin Airport Authority said the closure was necessary due to the extreme weather. European airports are still getting back on track assisting thousands of passengers attempting to get to their final destinations for the holidays. The severe weather is continuing to affect other transport services across the country. Due to Dublin's airport closing down, Irish Ferries were fully booked with only space available for foot passengers.
